a New Jersey man has plead guilty after he was charged with assaulting his wife using a meat cleaver.
The 54-year-old man will no longer go to trial for the crime because of the guilty plea. The man allegedly was planning to murder his wife as well.
The incident began in 2008 when the man swung a meat cleaver at his wife, but she ducked and the cleaver struck a chair. After he was arrested, it was found that the man was also planning to murder his wife. These charged were dropped once he plead guilty to the assault charge.
